Bosch Dishwashers: Unique Features
As mentioned above, Bosch prides itself on making a well engineered and quality product. Here are some features that make Bosch stand above the rest:
- Quiet Performance: Bosch is among, if not THE quietest available dishwasher in the United States. With an operating volume of 54 decibels for the Ascenta series and approximately 47 decibels for the 500 series, these levels remain unmatched by any competitor.
To give you an idea of how quiet that is, a typical, quiet conversation runs in the neighborhood of 50-70 decibels. Unless of course you're yelling at your husband.
- Active Water Technology: Unique to Bosch is their ActiveWater Technology. Some how or another, they've managed to take 2 gallons of water and use them as 1300 gallons in a typical wash cycle.
We may not understand the science behind this process, but the environmental impact; or better, the lack of environmental impact from this dishwasher is unbelievable!
Basically, the way works is that these units take 2 gallons of water in a wash cycle and uses them in a way that these 2 gallons become the cleaning equivalent of 1300 gallons of water.
- Aqua Stop Plus: This is one feature that Bosch dishwashers have that hopefully, you'll never need to use; but if you do, you'll be thankful you have it.
Aqua Stop means what it implies. If the sensors within the unit detect a leak, then the Aqua Stop feature is engaged and any chance of the leak spreading beyond the unit is immediately halted.
Again, this may not be something that would convince you to buy a dishwasher from Bosch, but should the need arise, isn't it comforting to know it's there?
- Huge Capacity: In the 800 Series, 500 Series and Ascenta Dishwashers, all have Smart Design technology which allows you to maximize the number of place-settings you can wash in a single load. Up to 14 place-settings in the 500 Series and 15 in the 800 Series. Also, all of the 500 series have the RackMatic system that allows you to adjust the height of the top rack to make room for large or unusually shaped dishware.
